Halloween is the perfect time to experiment with makeup. If you’re not big into costumes, you can still impress with Halloween makeup looks!  Whether you want to try making yourself into a movie or video game character, or simply a vampire or other monster, makeup plays a vital role in achieving that special look. Here are some stunning Halloween makeup looks to inspire your next transformation.

Elphaba

Feeling green? Become the most classic witch of all– Elphaba (a.k.a. the Wicked Witch of the West). Start with a green base of facepaint (we are loving the Mehron Color Pro Pallette).  Mix white and green to make the perfect shade according to your preferences and contour your cheeks with a deeper green to add depth. Use dark green or black eyeshadow to create a smoky eye and add some glitter for an extra magic touch. Finish with bold black eyeliner and deep purple or black lipstick. Don’t forget a pointed witch hat and a black dress to complete the look! Although it’s not necessary, you can make your eyes pop with dramatic false eyelashes, and be sure to use a setting powder or spray so your makeup doesn’t transfer or smudge.

Sugar Skull (Día de los Muertos)

Inspired by the Mexican holiday Día de los Muertos, the sugar skull look is both vibrant and artistic. Start with a white base to mimic skeleton makeup. Use colorful face paints to create floral designs around your eyes, and add intricate patterns on your forehead and cheeks. Use black eyeliner or eyeshadow to emphasize the eye sockets and create a nose resembling a skull. Use face gems, a flower crown, and consider doing a fin Halloween hairstyle to complement this look.

Classic Vampire

For a glamorous yet haunting vampire look, start with a flawless base using a light foundation. Do your hair into a vintage 1920s updo. Contour your face for sharp cheekbones and use a deep red or burgundy lipstick. Create bold, smoky eyes using dark eyeshadows and add false eyelashes for drama. Don’t forget to apply some fake blood at the corners of your mouth for that classic vampire touch and add vampire teeth to your canines.

Cat Woman

Channel your inner feline with a sultry Cat Woman look. Start with a smooth base, and use black eyeliner to create a dramatic cat-eye effect. Contour your face slightly to give it a more angular appearance. Finish the look with bold red or dark lipstick and draw on a cat mask with eyeliner or facepaint similar to the comic character. A cat ear headband will complete your transformation. Add a leather jacket or a sleek bodysuit to enhance the Cat Woman vibe.

Fairy

Embrace the whimsical side of Halloween with a beautiful fairy makeup look. Use a light, shimmery foundation for a glowing complexion, and add pastel eyeshadows to create an ethereal effect. Incorporate glitter on your eyelids and cheeks for added sparkle. A light pink or lavender lipstick will enhance the fairy aesthetic, and don’t forget to add some delicate pointed ears and white freckles. Consider adding flowers or twinkling stars in your hair for a magical touch.

Clown

For a playful yet eerie look, try a clown makeup design. Start with a white base and use bright colors to create exaggerated features. Use bold red for the nose and lips, or blood, and add dramatic eyes with colorful eyeshadow and eyeliner. You can opt for a classic clown look or a more sinister version with darker colors. Experiment with different shapes and patterns to create a unique design.

Pop Art Character

Bring a comic book character to life with a pop art-inspired makeup look. Use bright colors for your eyes and lips, and create exaggerated features with bold outlines. Dots of color can be added to mimic the printing technique used in comic books. This look is playful and allows for plenty of creativity. Accessorize with fun, colorful clothing to match your makeup. Use false eyelashes to enhance the comic book effect.

Conclusion

Halloween is the perfect occasion to experiment with makeup and unleash your creativity. Whether you prefer a classic witch, a vibrant sugar skull, or a playful clown, these makeup looks can help you stand out at any Halloween celebration. Don’t be afraid to mix and match elements from different styles to create your unique look.
